Do you see where I'm going here? Copy much? If you're going to copy a designer, at least do it well.

Nailed it

I've really cut down on the number of manis and pedis. So I'm not really even wearing nail polish these days. But when I saw the new Chanel color, I longed to magically paint it on right then and there. I mean, $23 is a little pricey for polish, so I won't truly be investing in it. But still, it's the perfect mix of grey/silver/pewter/fall/grunge/pretty. Sigggggghhhhhh.

EQUAL DISASTER

The other day I had to run some errands downtown. I parked my car on Oak right next to the Hermes store. I have been eyeing the Clic Clac bracelet for some time, but I wanted to try it on and make sure it fit my large wrist. (Important side note: though I love fashion and buy a lot of it, I am normally in sweatpants day to day. Much to the dismay of my mother.) So I was wearing my usual uniform of sports bra, slouchy tee, and hard tail sweats. Let's just say that is not the way to go when it come to Hermes. The salesman immediately looked me up and down and said coldly, "Can I help you?" It was a very Julia Roberts/Pretty Woman moment. I quickly tried on the bracelet and ran out. Here's the thing: while I was planning on trying it on and then purchasing it on Ebay, he did not know this. I could have been a billionaire on the way back from the gym. And maybe I could be his best customer in a few years (don't go there, social work). Plus, does he really make that much money that he can look down on us peasants?

I called my mom to laugh at this story, and she told me I should have said, "Ahem. You are speaking to an award-winning blogger." Haha.

Fashion Genius

I have outsmarted People magazine. People Weely, with their paid staff of professionals, have misidentified a dress, and I caught it! (This feeling is akin to find a grammatical error in a novel.) Here we have a beautiful Kate Bosworth:
$65 DRESS photo | Kate Bosworth
People identified it as an LBD from Topshop for $65. However, in my search process, I discovered that it is actually the BB Dakota Creston dress for $80 on shopbop or $54 on Karmaloop (though no smalls are left).

I will definitely be buying this item, and I also advise my certain most devoted, tall, blonde reader to as well.

Mesmerize

Australian designers have really stepped up their game. (Side note: one problem is that our summer and winter are opposite, so they create lovely sun dresses right around the time our blizzards arrive.) Unfortunately, it is very hard to find the dresses to purchase, so I rely on mycatwalk.com. I checked this morning and found what I can only call works of art. Anna Della Russo would definitely wear these. In my more modest city of Chicago, people would find them shocking. No matter- the price tags are too high for my student budget. Still, I can admire beauty.

Just yesterday, I posted about leopard accessories, and then WALAH, whowhatweardaily did a post about them too! See, I know my fashion trends.
