Net-a-Porter Newbies

I love Net-a-Porter, and the site frequently adds new items. Unfortunately, most of what I like is really expensive. And every once in a while, they have the ugliest, most eccentric items.
Check out this beehive. It's a clutch for $5,295!!!!!! Insane.

I do like these items, though.

Chanel Heaven

Is this not the most gorgeous Chanel ring ever? I NEED it. Santa or Hanukah Harry, are you listening?

Old Habits Die Hard

I wish I was fashion president of the the world. My first order of business? To make designers reproduce clothing from past seasons. I do not understand why you only have a limited time period of about 5 months to buy an item, and can then never again find it. Except for the rare Ebay purchase. I'm not talking about vintage clothing. I am talking about items from just few seasons ago. I didn't buy them then, and now I can't stop thinking about some of them. Does anyone else share this concern?

Like this Balenciaga bucket bag as seen on my inspiration board. Where are you, my pet?

Inspiration Board

So I was talking to my friend Sarah about a year ago, complaining about how I felt lost in life. This was when I was hating my old job, lived alone, etc. So she recommended an "Inspiration Board." Images and quotations of what I want out of life. I told her I already had one...of fashion. Needless to say, she was not pleased. I, however, am loving my board.

M-I-C-K-E-Y

I have a confession. I own not one, but TWO, cropped Mickey Mouse shirts. Well, one is Minnie, but still. Neither have been worn, because I think deep down I realize I am not the cropped-Mickey-Mouse-shirt wearing kind of girl. But just looking at them makes me so happy. I have not outgrown my childhood apparently. Maybe I'll get the courage to wear them soon. With my American Apparel shiny leggings perhaps?

Purses, oh my!

I need to admit my problem: I have a purse fetish. I want every single purse in the world, including the illustrious Chanel and Hermes. But until then, I am working on these. Likely buying them when I make my first millions as a social worker. So I'm thinking about year 3009.

Fashion Toast

I follow other bloggers almost every day. Currently, I am looking to copy an outfit by the popular FashionToast. Check her out at fashiontoast.com.

Wedding Bliss

So my sister recently got engaged!!! Congrats! Exciting, yada yada yada. Now to the more important issues: what am I going to wear? It will likely need to be black, but does not need to be a traditional bridesmaid dress. Thank god, as bridesmaid dresses are everything I am against. All girls looking the same in a dress that likely only flatters one of them??? Hell.

New Years Dress Frustration

So every year I start to get anxious around this time. Why, you ask? Because I need the PERFECT New Years dress. I have some perfectionist issue where I need the BEST dress possible. So this year, I found it. I was so excited. It's perfect- will accent my tan, can be worn with or without tights, etc. Even better, R Bils wore it and looked hot. And I love her (though maybe not as much as my friend Sandy.)

But then disaster hit! I ordered two sizes in the mail. And neither worked!! The material was a little cheap for such a pricey dress, and it made my body look wider. I am so sad, and now back to square one. Anxiety has once again set it in.

I am contemplating buying this dress. Short and flirty but I am not totally in love with the pink color, and I was trying to stay clear of black. What do you think?

Welcome to the show!

Some of you may ask why I named my blog "Chanel Social" when I don't own a single piece of Chanel (other than a necklace). Well, it's because this blog will describe my dreams and wishes. I can't buy every item of clothing I want (actually, I can't buy pretty much anything), but that doesn't mean I can't wish for something. One of my wishes: to be completely clad in Chanel. Every day. Well, with a little Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, Balmain, DVF, Proenza Schouler, Peter Pilotto, Givenchy, Versace, Armani, Vera Wang, and Marchesa thrown in there. Unfortunately, (not that I'm complaining cause I still am blessed to have what I have), I am pretty much in sweatshirts and sweatpants, with a little Urban Outfitters thrown in.

This blog will show you some of my more creative outfits and my wish list. I tend to get frustrated with my life sometimes, so there may be a little bit of ranting thrown in there. But I'm going to try and stay on the positive side. With fashion, there really is no negative.
